Hi Babes! 🙂
So those of you who follow me on Instagram have probably seen my video on this exciting new product from Clairol. If not, you can watch it here.
I decided to quickly write a blog post and explain how this product works. This is a semi-permanent color that lasts up to 15+ washes. Are you ready to flaunt your fearless? Then keep reading.
A little side notes:
- It contains no ammonia, peroxide or parabens.
- It has a true tone formula and color accurate fading that lasts 15+ washes.
- Box includes stylist brush for paint application- perfect for streaks and ombre look.
- No mixing required, direct dye formula.
- No bleach required, but the lighter your hair, the longer the wear.
Some of you may know that I’m getting married soon (next month). And as much as I really wanted to try this product out, I didn’t want my hair purple or pink for the wedding ( although I think it would look FAB lol). So my gorgeous friend decided that I could test the product on her and she decided to go with the purple color called Orchid.
This semi-permanent color works for blondes and brunettes and my friend has brunette hair, but it’s way darker than mine so we weren’t sure that it would actually show. It is true that the lighter your hair is, the color will be much brighter and vibrant, but we tried it anyway.
She first washed and towel dried her hair, and then the fun began! We decided to do an ombre look and boy was I nervous. I took small sections of her hair and used the gloves provided to blend the colour. It was so easy because you don’t have to mix the color and the formula is so thick and creamy. After applying enough to her hair, we waited 30 minutes and then washed it out until the water ran clear.
We brushed and styled her hair, and it was already night time, so we couldn’t see much and decided to take a photo outside, just like we did with her before photo.
Here is the before and after.
Because she is a dark brunette, the color is very subtle yet noticeable. It looked stunning! Now imagine if your hair is lighter? I actually tried a small piece on my hair, because I have light brown hair and have bleached my hair before and daym but was it popping! I think after the wedding, I’m going to add some pink to my hair for a fun and playful look 🙂 I mean it washes out eventually, so no permanent commitments.
This was such a fun product to test and review!
Hope you enjoyed this blog post 🙂
