Hello again 🙂
Today I quickly want to chat about a foundation I bought recently- Double Wear from Estee Lauder, an oldie but a goldie. I’m sure most of you remember how our moms would use this foundation, and like my mom, she never really switched to another one. This is definitely a classic.
So recently I went to the stores and was on the lookout for a different foundation to try out, besides this one, I also bought a new one recently and that will be on the blog soon!
Continuing with my story, I find myself at the Estee Lauder section in Edgars and thought why not try out the double wear that has been a favourite ever since it launched and I was looking for something that has full coverage. You know- for special occasions.
I picked my colour and off I went, now before I give you my review, let’s quickly talk about what this foundation claims.
Firstly it says that it has super long 24-hour wear, it looks flawless and natural on the skin and it is MATTE (remind me to get back to the matte part, ok?).
There are over 55 shades for all skin tones and undertones. It covers imperfections with buildable medium to full coverage and stays colour true. It is oil-free and oil-controlling. Waterproof and transfer -resistant.
Ok enough facts, let’s get into what I think about this foundation. So it says it’s a matte foundation right? I don’t really like matte foundations that are too drying on my skin, but this one is different. I would say it’s more of a satin to matte finish. My skin can be quite dry, so I make sure my skin is always hydrated before applying any foundation.
You guys this foundation does not dry out on my skin, it blends amazingly and does not look cakey. It settles into my skin so nicely and for me, it gives me more of a satin finish. It also really does look natural and is so light-weight on my skin. The coverage for me is mind-blowing, you don’t have to apply too much for full coverage, but I think this could differ for everyone.
When they say it lasts all day, this is no lie! You literally don’t need to touch up. I’ve been to weddings and you apply your foundation pretty early in the day and you leave the wedding very late and I looked at my face and thought wow, after dancing and all, my foundation still looked AMAZING!
The only downside of this foundation is that it doesn’t have a pump, you literally just pour it out, but you get so used to this, you will know how much foundation you need for the coverage you want.
And yes, this foundation is pricey AF. R600 is heavy, but it is a high-end foundation and if you know me, you know that I love drugstore and high-end foundations- as long as it does what it needs to do 🙂 Plus this is not my everyday foundation, because sometimes during the week I don’t wear foundation at all, just some concealer. But for days where I feel I need full coverage and want to look FAB and flawless, this is my go to.
Thanks for reading! 🙂
